Non-commercial Web use of Digital Artwork:

If you have a personal home page or non-commercial Web service, please feel free to use my paintings with hyperlinked credit. Acceptable HTML is

That way people know who did the painting and also can find my on-line copyright statement. You do not need to pay for usage. Just build the best Web site you can and give it back to the community. Please do e-mail me if you want to use my works in this way.

 

Commercial WEB use of Digital Artwork:

If you would like to use my pictures on a commercial WWW page, then please do the following:

1. Register the URL with me (sending email is fine)
2. Add the hyperlinked credit as above
3. Contact me about the specific desired use and we can discuss a reasonable price. The price will indeed depend on just how you may want to use the painting and what kind of visability it will get

Bounty:

If you see one of my paintings in a magazine or a Web page and there is no credit, then it is definitely unauthorized. If you are the first person to tell me about it, I'll send you a free set of notecards.

Use of paintings in print:

If you are doing a story, book, or CD-ROM about the World Wide Web, please feel free to include a page or two of mine under the following conditions:

1. Screen captures must be made from a computer with a 24-bit color video board. (Machines with 8-bit cards produce distorted images and colors.) I will supply dupe PhotoCDs or traditional transparencies for reproduction upon request.
2. The URL must be legible in the capture or separately printed in a caption
3. A small credit must be printed reading "Web page courtesy Andy Sewell (info@finewatercolors.com)"
4. Send me email informing me of the usage and/or Snail Mail a copy of the finished item to Andy Sewell Watercolors, 930 NW Fisk St., Viola, Idaho 83872

Other Use of my Paintings:

If you simply want to use my paintings to illustrate an article, use in advertising, in a brochure, book, magazine or any other printed medium, that is not about my Web pages, e.g., you just want a flower painting to go with a story on flowers, then that is commercial usage, you are not covered by any of these blanket licenses, and you should send me email with a proposal.

Paintings provided as artwork:

If we end up working out an agreement where you are using my paintings for something, I can provide them to you in many forms:

• Transparencies (35 mm slides - originals or duplicates I also have 4x5 transparencies of most of my works)
• Kodak Photo CD format.
• Jpegs (about any size you want up to about 18MB uncompressed) I know photoshop fairly well, and can save the image however you may need it and I can provide it to you online (FTP or E-mail)
